Sale Price:$385.00 Original Price:$450.00

Certainly reminiscent of, and undoubtedly inspired by the great old Barling Quaints. The slow, handiwork that Rich did on this pipe’s bowl qualifies it as a Lewis Quaint. It’s a beautiful pipe and I don’t see anyone else perfroming this kind of work slow carving today. Instead of something this labor intensive on a classic shape, the effort seems to be to see who can outdo the other in terms of unique shapes. That’s not necessarily bad. The pipe is unsmoked, so the condition is new, or pristine, if you prefer that term. It’s large…Grp. 7 size, and the draw is wide-open. The stem material is acrylic. The pipe has a designation stamped on the bottom of the shank: Artist. That’s appropriate. It is also dated, 1988. New.
6.25” long, bowl 2.6” tall. Weight: 2 5/8 oz., 76 grams.
