Jobey, as I’ve said over and over, often, so often, surprises me with the quality of the pipes they turned out. Their blasts are great, their smooth pipes, such as this one, exhibit great grain. Here we have a large, Grp. 6 size, cross grain, with the front of the bowl showing that grain that then runs all the way down and from the front to the back of the shank bottom. The stem is vulcanite and it has a normal push-pull tenon rather than the Jobey link, which is by no means bad. The draw is wide-open and the pipe easily passes the cleaner test. The condition is either excellent or near-new, whichever characterization pleases you more.
