J.C. (Joe Cortegiano #52123-3863MC *SOLD 2/18/24*

$110.00

Joe was a NYC pipe maker, who, according to Pipedia, had his pipes in some of NY’s best pipe shops, like Wilke and Barclay Rex. Also according to Pipedia, he had a reputation of very large pipes. This one is large, and the shank is quite long, approx. 5”, and the bowl and chamber are large, too. Other than carbon residue on the plateau rim, the pipe is in excellent condition. There are no teeth marks on the vulcanite stem and the rim does not show any wear or charring. There are some flaws in the briar, but I can’t tell if they have been filled or have just been left natural. The draw is open. Used.
8.5” long, bowl 2.5” tall. Weight: 2 7/8 oz., 82 grams.
