Squat (or is it Squashed?) Tomato comes to mind as the shape of the bowl. Along with the Busby stem treatment, it is a striking looking pipe. The other salient point, which you cannot get from the photos, is the size. This is a large pipe. Grp 7? Yeah, I guess so. To give some idea, it’s 2.75” across the bowl. Even the height of this squat bowl is 1.7” tall. The draw is open. What does perplex me a little is the stamping “Nail” on the bowl bottom. It’s not unusual for a finer piece to have a stamping (like an asterisk) on the shank indicating a ‘nail’ quality; sometimes more than one nail…the more the better. But this does not have that symbol, just the work “Nail.” Maybe it’s a new bit of Amorelli nomenclature. BTW, despite a somewhat rounded bottom, the pipe easily sits up. New.
6.25” long, bowl 1.7” tall. Weight: 3 5/8 oz., 101 grams.
