When was the last time that Peterson produced a pipe with a sandblast like this? Here’s the answer: when they produced this pipe, which was when the stamping, as it does on this pipe, said “Made in Ireland.” This blast is more like the shell of a nut than the blast of a briar. It’s terrific, it has enough character that any Pat. # Dunhill would be proud to own it. It’s a small pipe, a Grp. 3, and the walls are thin, but as experienced pipe men can tell you, if the wood is well aged and cured, a thin walled pipe is not an issue. I’m not sure the stem is original, but it may be…the button is one of an old pipe. The condition of the pipe is very, very good. There is some carbon residue on the smooth, beveled rim, and because of the angle, I may not be able to polish it off, but there is no sign of wear. Used.
5.95” long, bowl 1.85” tall. Weight: .75 oz., 22 grams.
