Charatan Distinction #112123-6369 *RESERVED*

$110.00

As you well may know, The Distinction is the first rung of Charatan’s straight grain series. What makes this one unique (and of course, they’re all unique if only because grain can’t be naturally duplicated) is that the shaping is quite Danish in my opinion. I wouldn’t have been surprised to see this branded as a Pipe Dan. I was surprised to see it was a Charatan. It’s a Grp. 4 in size, or maybe a 5, depending on how you want to rate tall, but thin, bowls. The condition is very good, with carbon residue on the plateau rim, but no wear. The stem is not original and doesn’t have the “CP” logo, but it is a somewhat old (50’s?, 60’s?) vulcanite stem that is free of bite indents. The draw is wide-open and it does have the Lane “L” stamping on the shank. Used.
6.5” long, bowl 2.2” tall. Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams.
