In checking this pipe out in preparation to posting, I thought I noticed a bit of a concave area in the chamber, so of course, I was concerned. So, I decided to smoke it to see if the bowl got hot. I am smoking it now and the bowl isn’t even getting warm, and the chamber is quite large, so that possibility existed in any case. Further, it is smoking like a dream, especially if you like that soft Castello smoke. And, easily right down to the bottom (causing me to spill some ash on my newly washed jeans…drat!) Notice, also that it was given just one K, and that is not in the oval, so it is an older pipe. Well, today, this size would likely be designated a G. It is at least a Grp. 6. I’m not sure what colors come through the photos, so I’ll tell you that the stem is that dark purple acrylic, with the old U.S. diamond logo in the stem. Used.
