Barling's Fossil LF 302 #112123-5992 *SOLD*

$275.00

The “LF” stamping refers to “long flat,” which signifies a Canadian. There is also an LLF. When I get one, I’ll let you know. Although the nomenclature is a little buffed down and is no longer crisp, every letter is legible. Nothing has been buffed out. The “Barling’s Make,” is in block letters and is arched, putting this squarely into the family era of Barling pipe making. For a full, almost exhausting explanation, please read the Barling page on Pipedia, a true gem of a resource. The crossed “Barling” logo is also in pretty good shape, if far from perfect. The blast is still good, but some of its sharpness has been diminished by handling. Well, isn’t that how an old, great smoking pipe is supposed to be? It is also stamped TVF and the size is a Grp. 6. Used.
6 1/8” long, bowl 1.9” tall. Weight: 1.5 oz., 41 grams.
