This is not a gourd calabash, and I’m not at all sure what the material is that houses the meerschaum cup. It is a wood of some type that I can’t immediately distinguish, although I feel I know this grain well enough to name the wood. The cup is, however, a solid grade of true block meerschaum. If there is a brand name to this pipe, it is not visible to me; the only info is that it was ‘made in Turkey.” The condition is near-new, although it may, in fact, be entirely new. I just don’t want to swear to that. The draw is acceptable, but it could be more open in my opinion, but then, I like wide-open draws. Others like a more constricted draw as they feel it pulls the flavor out of the tobacco more efficiently.
