There is a touch of wear on the rim of this beautiful, cross-grained Horn that was clearly made by Paolo (we miss him so), thus the price is going to be pretty damned appealing to those who prize his pipes almost as much as they prize Paolo. Other than that wear, the pipe is in excellent condition with original stem that is free of marks, an open draw and a chamber without burns or internal fractures. It’s also the kind of Horn that isn’t bent over, just waiting to spill ashes on your jeans; you can hold it in your mouth, puff and type with no fear of a spill. (There is nothing like first hand info, is there?). Due to the shape, it’s hard to declare it a Grp. 5 or perhaps 6, but it’s not too big or too small. How’s that for precision?
