Added to the fact that this pipe has up and down straight grain visible in the blast and a beautiful shape is the best news…the condition is ‘near-new.’ It is also pretty large, Grp. 6 size, and the draw on the vulcanite stem is wide-open. Looking at the grain and the blast, it’s clear that this is hard, tightly grained briar. Although Frank is a German pipe maker, this has a normal tenon, not a 9mm.
BTW, the pipe easily passes the cleaner test.
