This nice old Appleby comes with a Pat. #. Happily, it also comes with the original small 4 dots on a stem without teeth marks and a fully intact rim. Grp. 5 size with a wide-open draw and a very clean chamber. For the grain hounds among you, there is a combination of cross grain and Bird’s Eye, with the cross grain seated on the back of the bowl and thus across the top and bottom of the shank. The nomenclature is all there, but perhaps not in the super crisp manner it was when new, but then, I didn’t see it when it was new and it might have been shallowly stamped.
