Charatan Distinction #32124-3539CO

$75.00

Charatan made a lot of large pipes, especially in their straight grain series (of which this is one). Yet, this is a small pipe…a Grp. 3 in size. “Distinction” is the first step in that series, and while this definitely has Distinction quality grain (which isn’t all that high a bar to achieve) it has some less than perfect details. Yes, the bowl and rim are in excellent condition, the nomenclature is crisp and clear and there are no marks on the stem, but, the “CP” is all but entirely buffed off the stem and to some of you who are dependent on nomenclature, rather than your eyes and knowledge, there is no Lane “L” stamped on the shank. It is an original, old Charatan and likely made for the European market (which likes smaller pipes, anyhow) and it does say “Made by Hand in City of London.” The draw is open. Used.
5.45” long, bowl 1.55” tall. Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams.
