Bewlay Spiral #21724-6991

$50.00

God only knows what “Spiral” means in the Bewlay hierarchy. In this instance, it means an old pipe (I’m guessing 50s by virtue of the stem button, the overall shape and the general look) in very good condition, with the slightest touch of wear at one point on the inside rim and a pristine ebonite stem. The nomenclature is crisp and clear, too. The draw is open. Grp. 4, on the larger side. One of the fun things to do with Bewlay is to figure out which of the old English companies made the particular pipe in hand. I’m not good at research, but if I had to guess, I’d go with Loewe on this one. It does have a shape 160 stamp on it, so perhaps you can look it up. Used.
5.25” long, bowl 1.85” tall. Weight: 1.5 oz., 42 grams.
