1935 Dunhill Shell #215-3626BJ *SOLD 5/25/23*

$485.00

I hope this is that long looked-for birth year pipe, you old buzzard you. It’s small…a Grp. 3 according to Dunhill’s size template, but the condition is sharp. Every single digit of the two patent numbers is clear, as is the rest of the nomenclature. The rim is crisp, as you can see, and the stem has one really small tooth mark, of almost no depth at all, on the top near the button. That rounded button, BTW, is strong evidence that the stem is original. There is something different, though, and that is a metal, threaded tenon, that goes into the threaded shank. My guess is that the tenon was snapped at some early date, and some brilliant pipe repair man fixed it this way. Unless there’s another explanation. Either way, the stem fits seamlessly, the draw is open and the pipe gets an A on the cleaner test. Used.
4.9” long, bowl 1.7” tall. Weight: 1 oz., 26 grams.
