Savinelli Trevi #5625-11845 *SOLD 7/6/25*

$45.00

The pipe must be named after the Trevi fountain in Rome; it’s the ornately decorated fountain that was perhaps made famous by the movie Three Coins in a Fountain (which came with a song of the same name…or was the song first and then the movie?). In my case, it was a landmark because it was right around the corner from the Becker-Musico pipe store, which I visited many times with David Field, as he was the importer-U.S. distributor for Paolo Becker’s pipes. The Musico part was Giorgio Musico, an extremely extroverted, amiable guy who deemed himself a communist, despite owning his own business, which, pretty much be definition made him a true Capitalist. Unless, behind our backs he donated all his income, the gross amount, to the Italian gov’t. You’ll forgive me if I find that extremely unlikely. (I’m not a communist, but I am a Marxist. The kind that, instead of Stalin or Lenin, pays his respect to Groucho, Chico and Harpo.
Back to the pipe at hand. It’s a Grp. 5 in excellent condition, with a fancy band, an acrylic stem, an open draw and a tenon that can take Savinelli’s balsa filter. BTW, it’s a rusticated finish that is very well done and looks quite close to a sandblast.
5.8” long, bowl 2” tall. Weight: 1 7/8 oz., 54 grams.
