This was made before L’Anatra started putting the duck head logo on the top of the stem. That’s both good and bad, but perhaps mostly good. Certainly, the wood is older. Also, there is nothing standing up on the pipe to get caught on clothes, or to be knocked off the stem, leaving the pipe owner with essentially a damaged pipe. (Or do I have it backwards, as I often do, and the duck head came first and then the ditched that and put the flat, silver duck egg on the stem?) The pipe is large, a Grp. 7 or maybe more (there is no template showing anything larger than a Grp. 6) and I can stick my thumb into the chamber, which, BTW, is happily uncoated. As a Two Egg, it should have a good degree of straight grain, and it certainly does. The stem is acrylic and the draw is wide-open. I forgot to mention the pipe is new, i.e., unsmoked.
