Hey, remember those kits you could buy when pipe and tobacco shops existed in every community and shopping center? The briar blocks were pre-drilled , for both chamber and molded stem, and all you had to do was some sanding to create your own pipe? Didn’t the briar blocks in those kits look like this fan-shaped piece? From what I could unearth by looking at a few pipe websites, this guy Florian made a small career out of simple minded pipes that look like those in the kits…all fan shaped, and not inexpensive, either. The one difference is that his pipes have near spectacular straight grain/flame grain, as does this. I can’t say it’s the most comfortable shape to hold and smoke, (well, I could say it…but I’d be lying, wouldn’t I?) but the price at which I’m offering this unsmoked pipe is far less than ½ the prices I’ve seen posted.
