The story is in the grain. It’s Barbi reading the grain at his masterful best. He quite possibly knew briar, and how to read it, at least as well as anyone. I remember sitting up deep into the night with two German pipe makers, at Wolfgang Becker’s 60th birthday party, and listening to them talk about Barbi’s skill. Looking at this one will provide pleasure for the life of the pipe and the life of the owner. It’s a large Grp. 6 bowl. Maybe a 7. Condition is excellent.
