The pipe, a large Grp. 5 or perhaps a small Grp. 6, is in excellent condition. Interesting, BTW, that Joura never sought to create a stem logo for his pipes, not that he needed to. Nor is there any stamping on the band on this pipe, but it is clearly an original as it is a smooth transition to both the shank and the stem and is not a repair band, which would fit over the shank. The top and bottom of the shank are a little thin and Karlo evidently wanted to make sure they were not fractured when removing and replacing the stem. The shape is wonderfully comfortable in the hand and there’s plenty of flame grain on the bowl sides.
