Straight off you can see the direct link between the shape of this pipe and some of the great Charatan straight grains. And where did that old Charatan briar go when they were bought by Dunhill and shut down their workshop in The City (as old, original London is known…distinct and at least semi-autonomous from Greater London)? When Willmer came out with all these great, large, clean straight grained pieces, it was hard to believe that the people that opened the new pipe’s workshop didn’t ferry a lot of that briar to their place. This is a Grp. 7 in size and in very good condition. There are some small dings on the outer rim of the bowl and the stem logo has been buffed off. The nomenclature is clean and clear.
