GBD #51326-14106 *SOLD 7/27/26*
If the hallmarks on the silver band were not so blurry, we could date this pipe with precision, but I think we’ll get pretty close anyway. We do know, from the silver band, that it was made during the era (1950-1970) that the brand was owned by Marechal & Ruchon & Co. The band has their signature “MR&C” on it and that is not blurry. The only thing that’s hard to discern is the letter that would indicate the exact year of production. It looks like the letter might be a “U” and that would make the year to be 1955, using the hallmark letter guide. That makes sense, taking in the look of the pipe as well as the always tell-tale stem button. the pipe’s condition is very good, with only the merest hint of tooth action on the stem…no real dents thgere and no wear on the chamber rim. the chamber itself is in excellent condition. Grp. 5 in size, but barely.
5.2” long, bowl 1.8” tall. Weight: 1 3/8 oz., 37 grams.
