Barling Make #72025-11979 SOLD 7/27/25

$325.00

What a pain in the ass this was to photograph. Having now shot a two-pipe set, I’d do it differently next time, but each of the pipe was shot from all the usual angles, so nothing is missing. The only issue is that you might have difficulty distinguishing which pipe is which. And, if fact, it really doesn’t much matter because both are in the same condition and say the same things. Indeed, the only nomenclature on each pipe is “Barling’s Make” in crisp, clear block letters. No shape numbers, no size designations (one is a Grp. 4, the other is a bit larger, so we’ll say it’s a Grp. 5 and charge you for the privilege) not even a made in England. The inside fabric of the case (which is in very good condition, by the way) is embossed with “Special Barling’s London Made.” The outside of the case is not so fortunate; the clasp works perfectly well, but one of the hinges is broken. The pipes are in excellent condition, and although neither stem has the crossed “Barling” logo, you can see that they are old stems, and fit the case so perfectly that I’m pretty confident that they are the original stems. Again, the people tasked with doing the stamping were feeling chary that day and kept all nomenclature to themselves. (BTW, for the same of full disclosure, each stem has a very small tooth indent on the top…clearly both pipes were smoked by the same party.)
The pipes are about 5.8” long, and weigh between 1 oz. and 1 ¼ oz.
