This pipe is large, a Grp. 7, at least. It has deep, ring grain blasting and is in very good condition. There is a little, very little, tooth chatter on the bottom of the brindle stem and most of that will be buffed out when I take the stem to the wheel. The issue, of course, is if you can, or want to, handle such a large pipe. You’ll need a rocker, a little table adjoining, and your pipe tools thereon. On the other hand, can you think of a pipe that will deliver a better smoke than an Ashton of this vintage?
