1968 Dunhill Shell #72025-12004

$185.00

Two things worth noting before we talk about the condition: 1) the date looks as much like a “3” under a lens as it does an “8.” However, the nomenclature makes it pertty certain that the year of production was 1968. 2) The nomenclature also is clear about this being a Shell, which means the sandblast stain should be black…with a red under-tone…and not the brown color that it is. Do with this info what you will. Now for condition: it is very good. The chamber rim is as you see it in the photos. The chamber is in top-top condition. The stem looks too good to be true, so it may be a replacement, but if so, it was done exceedingly well, although the blast on the shank may have been sanded in order to fit stem to shank. The Nomenclature is a little buffed down, but everything is intact and legible…if your eyes are good. In all, it’s a good old Dunhill. It’s a Grp. 4, on the large side.
5.7” long, bowl 1.7” tall. Weight: 1.25 oz., 36 grams.
