1968 is the magic year for Dunhill. Sometime during that year Dunhill went from handcrafting each pipe to using a machine that cut 8 blocks at a time. Of course, those blocks then underwent an awful lot of hand work, but it does seem like a watershed moment in that venerated company’s history. Which side of that divide does this pipe belong? Well…I suggest you buy it and ask it, ‘cause I don’t know. It’s in very good condition, with very slight wear on the pipe’s rim, and while all of the nomenclature is legible, is is buffed down. The stem is in fine condition. It’s a good size Grp. 4. Probably could have been called a 5.
