The impression that comes through with this pipe is that it was a favorite of someone. It was well smoked. So, there are signs of some wear, but mostly superficial that will not impact the future longevity of the pipe. For instance, the rim is no longer sharp and crisp, but it’s not out of round, either and the chamber is in good condition. There is also a tooth mark on the underside of the stem, and while it can’’t be called shallow, it isn’t deep either and, of course, doesn’t go through. The nomenclature is almost all legible, although buffed down. It’s a Grp. 4.
