Yes, this pipe has a repair band (Stanwell cut the bottom of the shank too thin…a crack was almost inevitable) but it also has terrific straight grain, and a silver “S” inserted into the stem, indicating that the people at the Stanwell factory placed high value on the pipe. The stem and bowl and rim are in excellent ccondition. The pipe is very short, but the bowl and chamber capacity put it in the Grp. 4 category, or maybe a bit larger. The draw is open and it passes the cleaner test.
