Preben Holm #327-11269 *SOLD 4/23/25*

$150.00

This is a very early Preben Holm. In fact, let’s fantasize (and get me thousands and thousands of dollars) and say that this is the first commercial pipe Preben made. Most likely, it is not, but on Pipedia they depict the nomenclature of one of his early pipes and this pipe has that exact same stamping. One line says P. Holm and below it says Denmark. That’s it. The condition is excellent, near-new. Because it’s a tall and fairly narrow bowl, it’s hard to say what Dunhill size it compares with, but it’s at least a Grp. 5 and maybe a Grp. 6. The shape is very reminiscent of the old Pipe Dan pipes, which is no surprise because that is where Preben got his start as a 16 y/o pipe maker. I am not in a position to say Preben Holm pipes of this era (late 60’s is quite possible according to a photo on Pipedia) are rare, but in my 48 years in the used pipe business, this is the first of its ilk that I have seen.
5.15” long, bowl 2.5” tall. Weight: 1.25 oz., 34 grams.
