Welcome to PulversPriorBriar's Human Folly/Human
Tragedy series.  Inspired by Peterson's 2012 Titanic
Commemorative, which so whimsically celebrated the
drowning deaths of 1500 innocent people who only
wanted to enjoy a voyage on an "unsinkable" ship, we
will twist, turn and swivel our way through history,
pin pointing some of mankind's greatest follies, resulting
inevitably in human tragedy.  In collaboration with New
Mexico artisan Don Gillmore (maker of the renowned
Don Warren pipes) we hope to present these emblems
of folly with the same sense of whimsy and wryness
that certainly must have driven  Peterson .
Our first offering is The Apple, representing our specie's
very first reported refusal at accepting good advice
while insisting on indulging in the ingesting of a
handsome, shiny looking forbidden fruit, and thus
getting expelled from Eden, forever.  Paradise Lost.
And thus mankind, and eventually PulversPriorBriar,
was off and running.  Pipe #1 in the Human Folly/
Human Tragedy Series...Paradise Lost.
# 1 in the Human Folly Series ..Paradise Lost
A Grp. 4 Apple with a black ebonite stem to complement the
smooth, reddish stain.  The draw is wide-open.  The trim will
be a continuing insignia for all the Human Folly series pipes.

#1 in the Human Folly Series...Paradise Lost #117351
A grp. 4 Apple with a translucent, amber-like acrylic stem.  The
draw is wide-open.  The bowl exhibits an captivating variety of
grains from flame grain to Bird's Eye.  No bowl coating,
5.75" long, bowl 1.6" tall.  Weight: 1.25 oz., 35 grams. $245.
All Human Folly Series pipes are stamped with the name of
the event they commemorate (Paradise Lost for the 1st in the
series) and the fact that this is a Human Folly series pipe.
They also come with a business-size card that provides the
number in the series, the name of the pipe and a brief explana-
tion of the event.
#1 in the Human Folly Series...Paradise Lost
A Grp. 4 Apple with a brindle ebonite stem matching the
mahogany stain.  The draw is wide-open.  A little of that dark
stain got to the bowl bottom, so a nice discount falls to you.
5.75" long, bowl 1.7" tall.  Weight: 1 oz., 28 grams. $195.
#2 In the Human Folly Series...Helen of Troy
This Grp 4 size Yachtsman commemorates "the face that
launched 1,000 ships," towards the 10 year siege of Troy.
Thanks to Helen's perfidy, lives were lost, a city-state was
razed & deathless literature was inspired.  May all your wives
leave you for better looking men & engender stories for
thousands of years.  BTW, this pipe was made, oh so fittingly,
from fine Grecian briar and our versions smoke wonderfully.
The draw is wide-open & the chamber has been left uncoated.
6" long, bowl 1.9" tall.  Weight: 1 1/8 oz., 33 grams. $225.

The Children's Crusade... #4 in The Human Folly Series
The Children's Crusade may have never happened as
imagined, but it well may have resulted in children, who thought
they were going to the Holy Land, being tricked and sold into
slavery in Tunisia, among other places.  But the fact of children
being abused physically and emotionally, thereby
creating the foundation for a screwed-up next generation, is
hard to dispute and is still going on.  This Grp. 3 has great
straight grain all around and I don't know why it isn't being
posted at a premium price.  Not to save the children, I can tell
you that.
 (SOLD 1/1/19)
5.7" long, bowl 1.9" tall.  Weight: `1.25 oz., 36 grams. $245.
The Children's Crusade...#4 in The Human Folly Series
A tan sandblast exhibiting straight grain all around.  The draw is
wide open, as is its sister pipe above, and both easily take a
pipe cleaner to the bottom of the well drilled air hole/chamber.
#4 in the series represents the physical and emotional abuse
that adults have, and still do, inflict upon our youth, assuring
that they will grow up damaged and perpetuating the problem.
5.85" long, bowl 1.75" tall.  Weight: 1.25 oz., 36 grams.  $225.
# 3 In The Human Folly Series...Pompeii 1123118
A Volcano shape.  Unable to keep themselves from building
under a live volcano, 2000 citizens of Pompeii were burned and
suffocated to death in Veusvius' 79 AD blast.  The next large
eruption might kill millions more.  And to show that human folly
is alive and well, think of all the building going on over the San
Andreas, and other fault lines, in Calif., a state with, currently
over 30 million inhabitants.  That number might be drastically
reduced at any time.  Lots of straight grain, a wide-open draw
and construction that allows for a cleaner to go to the chamber
bottom, and no bowl coating.  Does the stem represent lava
flow?  Maybe.  New.
5.85" long, bowl 1.65" tall.  Weight: 1 7/8 oz., 53 grams. $245.
